Press release as follows:

The UK's Biggest J-Culture Event
Hyper Japan

Friday 25-27 July 2014
Earls Court, London

The UK's biggest celebration of Japanese culture, cuisine, entertainment and technology returns this year with an even greater selection of exhibitors, workshops, guests, performers plus many more in what will be the 6th HYPER JAPAN.

A dynamic blend of traditional and modern Japanese culture, HYPER JAPAN offers something for everyone, whether you want to discover new hot music artists, or discover the latest up and coming performing arts - play dress up with the latest kawaii fashion, judge the very best sushi chefs in the UK, or sample the delicious sake on offer - HYPER JAPAN is a truly unique event that offers something for both the dedicated Japanophile, and those not so familiar with Japanese culture.

All under one roof, Earls Court One, will play host to the new themes and areas that will be bigger and better than ever including:

HYPER Game and Anime Park - This year's HYPER JAPAN will offer a dedicated game and anime area for enthusiasts! Expect a huge selection of manga & anime, games, figures, merchandise featuring your favourite characters. Last year's impressive showing included iconic brands from Nintendo and Namco Bandai for games and, for anime, DAISUKI, the coolest anime streaming. HYPER JAPAN is one of the most anticipated events of the year for UK fans of cosplay (the art of dressing up to replicate your favourite anime or video character) Visitors can either be entertained by the display or nominate themselves for the World Cosplay Summit.

HYPER Fringe Market - A dedicated section for niche interests, custom-made goods and up-and-coming talent. If you like hand-made goods based on Japanese traditions, unique one-off fashion accessories or live performances in a more intimate space, check it out! You'll be able to find something you won't see elsewhere.

HYPER KAWAii!! - Bigger and better than ever before, this year we have an entire HYPER KAWAii!!area dedicated to inspiring, fun and colourful Japanese street fashion! HYPER JAPAN is teaming up with Japanese fashion powerhouse ASOBISYSTEM of HARAJUKU KAWAii!!, who produced Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. This HYPER KAWAii!! area will be jam-packed with all the relevant stalls and areas such as hair, make-up and fashion shows.

Eat-Japan - The much celebrated Eat-Japan section returns attracting a diverse range of food and drink lovers. It will include the popular Sushi Awards, where you can taste sushi created by the UK's top sushi chefs and plus head towards the much-anticipated Sake stalls, where you will taste and learn more about its delicacies. Alongside Eat-Japan Japanese street food stalls, you will be able to taste authentic savoury takoyaki balls, curry, ramen to sweet treats. All will be available to tantalise or refresh the taste buds - there will be something for everyone.

Big in Japan.....VOCALOID™ Opera AOI with Bunraku Puppets In true HYPER JAPAN style, a brand new artistic trend called VOCALOID™ meets traditional performing arts with 300 years of history. Presented as an opera film, visitors will be treated to a performance taken from ancient Japanese literature inspired by the book Tale of Genji, also referred to as the world's first novel. Banraku puppets, life-like puppets, known to act beyond human ability will perform with VOCALOID™ technology, where pre-recorded voices and melody are stored in a comprehensive Singer Library, extracts are then taken and synthesized without the use of an actual singer. The unique experience is set to change the landscape of performing arts.

This is the must attend event on for the summer calendar, perfect for the Japanophile and those who are not so familiar with Japanese culture. Further updates to be announced.
Tickets cost £12 in advance (£15 on the door)
