New trailer features better at the robots and plenty of action!
Full Story
A brand new exclusive trailer for the upcoming live-action Transformers movie, due to be out this summer on July 4 from director Michael Bay and producer Steven Spielberg, is currently available on the movie's official website. And this one gives us a better look at the film's stars, both human and robot.
Human-wise, the movie features quite the star-studded cast. Main actor Shia Lebeouf (Disturbia) kicks the trailer with co-star Kevin Dunn (Gridiron Gang) on their way to buy Lebeouf's character Sam Witwicky's first car, who turns out to be the Autobot Bumblebee (Dunn plays Sam's father, Ron Witwicky). Ocean's Thirteen star Bernie Mac plays the car salesman who sells Sam the car-disguised robot. Also featured are stars Megan Fox (Hope and Faith), who plays Sam's love interest Mikaela; Jon Voigt (National Treasure), who plays Secretary of State Keller; and Tyrese Gibson (2 Fast 2 Furious) and Josh Duhamel (Las Vegas), who play Epps and Captain William Lennox, respectively, soldiers caught up in the battle between the Autobots and Decepticons.
And speaking of the Robots in Disguise, quite a few of them can be seen very clearly this time around, both in robot and alternate modes. Aside from Bumblebee, the trailer features appearances by Decepticons Starscream, Barricade, Blackout and Scorponok. Megatron can be glimpsed briefly being held in a military complex, and of course, there are appearances of famed Autobot leader Optimus Prime, both transforming (complete with the classic original sound effect!) and doing battle with an enemy Decepticon. Sadly, none of the robots are featured speaking, so we don't get to hear Peter Cullen reprising his role as Optimus, Hugo Weaving as Megatron or Keith David as Barricade. It's still an impressive trailer, giving a great sample of what this movie will be like.
