Synopsis
Nagano PD's Kansuke Yamato and Yui Uehara are alerted that a researcher has been attacked at an observatory in the Yatsugatake Mountains. During the investigation, Kansuke starts feeling a strange discomfort in the eye he injured during an avalanche 10 months prior.
Meanwhile, Kogoro receives a call from his former colleague Sametani, who claims to be investigating the avalanche that Kansuke was involved in. But before Sametani can share his findings, he is assassinated right before Kogoro and Conan's eyes. Determined to uncover the truth, Kogoro travels to Nagano himself, while Conan launches his own investigation.
While in Nagano to investigate the killing of Sametani, Conan and Kogoro discover the avalanche is linked to a robbery that happened 8 years before. But when Detective Kansuke becomes the target of a mysterious assailant, the stakes rise sharply. Can Conan unravel the web of secrets and stop the killer before it's too late?
Often referred to as "a modern-day Sherlock Holmes", Gosho Aoyama's original manga DETECTIVE CONAN (also known as CASE CLOSED) draws inspiration from the world's greatest mystery writers such as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Edogawa Ranpo. Shinichi Kudō (Detective Conan) is a genius high school detective who takes on the name "Conan Edogawa" when his body is shrunk down to child size after being ambushed by a mysterious poison. DETECTIVE CONAN has become one of Japan's most recognisable pop culture icons; multimedia franchise including an anime with over 1,000 episodes broadcast in over 40 countries, multiple record-breaking feature films, and video games. This time, DETECTIVE CONAN: ONE-EYED FLASHBACK unravels a mystery adventure in Nagano, marking the return of three beloved characters from the manga to the big screen - the Nagano Prefectural Police's trio of childhood friends: Inspector Kansuke Yamato, Taka'aki Morofushi, and Yui Uehara.
Cedric Behrel, Managing Director of Trinity CineAsia, comments, "The time of the year has come again to celebrate a Detective Conan release. It marks our second release of this long-standing and much-loved Japanese anime franchise in the UK, following our launch in 2024. Our engagement with the UK's cultural symbols - including a campaign in collaboration with the Sherlock Holmes Museum - was met with an overwhelmingly positive response from fans. Following the widespread success of Ne Zha 2, we aim to further grow Trinity CineAsia's diverse animation audience by bringing the latest Detective Conan feature to the big screen each year, with the same passion and commitment. We're grateful to TMS Entertainment for once again placing their trust in us."
