October is shaping up to be the month for otaku in London. With the London MCM Expo at the end of the month. While at the beginning of the month a new event called Hyper Japan is set to run from Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd October 2010.
The event has a lot to offer with an Otaku Village set to cater to all your retail needs.
Cosplayers will be well represented too (they'll even get a chance to win a trip to Japan). There's also a cosplay talent search, competitions and other fun to be had if you like dressing up.
Japanese fashion magazine KERA will be there with fashion shows and style tutorials (the event is looking for models to take part).
Fans of angel fighting giant robots won't be disappointed either as they have a special Evangelion Store which will be selling some exclusive and hard to find merchandise.
Figure collectors might want to note that Good Smile will be there too! ^__^
As the people behind EAT-JAPAN are organising the event you can be certain that Japanese cuisine will be well represented too. with the EAT-JAPAN food court.
They'll also have lots of culture on stage too. You can book early to get a discount from the standard £8 entry fee. Children under 5 go free. As always we advise to book early to avoid disappointment.

COSPLAYERS WIN THE HOLIDAY OF A LIFETIME WITH HYPER JAPAN, LONDON'S NEWEST JAPANESE EVENT!
Join the Pop party! October 1st will see the launch of the London's newest Japanese food, culture, fashion and anime event – HYPER JAPAN LONDON 2010!
Organised by Cross Media, the company behind EAT-JAPAN magazine and the Tokyo Day event, HYPER JAPAN aims to bring Japan's newest and freshest trends to the heart of London.
Early-bird tickets are just £5, available from the HYPER JAPAN website or from JP Books at Mitsukoshi Department store (Piccadilly Circus).

KERA Model Search & Fashion Show
Trend-setting Japanese street fashion magazine KERA will be exhibiting for at HYPER JAPAN, and bringing a selection of popular punk, Lolita and alternative fashion brands with them. KERA will also host Harajuku-style fashion shows and style tutorials on the main stage, and HYPER JAPAN is looking for models to take part! More information on how to register will be available soon on the HYPER JAPAN website.
Evangelion Store to exhibit!
Evangelion Store will be exhibiting for the first time in the UK, with a whole range of exclusive and hard-to-find items available for purchase. Products will include the latest collection of Evangelion collectable figures and a range of Asuka Langley stationery, sold exclusively at HYPER JAPAN!
HYPER JAPAN UK Cosplay Award
Join the HYPER JAPAN UK Cosplay Award, where pairs of cosplayers compete to win a trip to Japan! The lucky winning team will receive two flights to Tokyo (courtesy of Finnair) and five night's stay in a luxury 4-star hotel (courtesy of the Park Hotel Tokyo).
The competition is open to pairs of cosplayers aged 16 or over. In addition to the HYPER JAPAN UK Cosplay Award, HYPER JAPAN will also hold a COSParade competition and a Cosplay Talent Show in conjunction with the Grand International Cosplay Ball. Please see the website for more details.
Japanese Food
A wide range of restaurants and food stores will be serving up authentic and delicious dishes at the EAT-JAPAN Food Court. Sample everything from festival food to high class sushi, taiyaki to takoyaki! You can even learn how to make your own delicious dishes at home, with cooking tutorials every day on the main stage.
Manga tutorials by Umisen Yamasen
Also exhibiting are well-known manga artist collective Umisen Yamasen. Brush up your artwork skills by watching their on-stage drawing tutorial!
