4Kids looses rights to Yu-Gi-Oh! after allegedly charging for the dub of Yu-Gi-Oh! and hiding revenue

Whilst creative accounting is nothing new in the entertainment industry anime fans will no doubt be interested to hear TV Tokyo and Nihon Ad systems have pulled the rights to Yu-Gi-Oh! from 4kids, after an audit found a number of irregularities.

After TV Tokyo and Nihon Ad Systems requested an audit for 4kids books, the auditor turned up some suspicious deals made with companies such as Cartoon Network.
The auditor also found that 4kids had made improper deductions such as charging for the dub, and licencing shows they didn't have rights to.
