Big fake glasses. The next fashion trend?

Neojaponisme have an interesting article about an up and coming fashion trend - fake glasses. It seems that there is an increase of young Japanese ladies wearing thick rimmed glasses without any lenses. They note the trend is as a cross between "Woody Allen ironic hipster glasses and toy spectacles worn by kindergartners in school plays". As spotted on Boing Boing.
