VISIT THE GREATEST GAMING SHOW ON EARTH

Tokyo Game Show Tour from £1,735pp (16-24 September) with Japan Journeys

With 24-hour video gaming available just about everywhere in the city, from the colossal electronic stores and vast arcades right down to the smallest internet café and local coffee shop, Tokyo is the mecca of gaming. Enthusiasts can make a pilgrimage to the city with specialist operator, Japan Journeys, on their 9-night Tokyo Game Show Tour 2012 from just £1,735pp departing 16-24 September.

The highlight of the tour is inclusive entrance to the opening day of the Tokyo Game Show 2012. Visitors to the show are amongst the world’s first to play and review pre-released games. There is also a chance to meet some gaming industry celebs and to try out some of the latest in gaming technology.

The tour begins in Shinjuku with a visit to the Square Enix Show Case to pick up the latest character products followed by a chance to explore the labyrinth of anime, manga and electric goods stores in Akihabara, also known as Tokyo's "Electric Town".

The following day the group takes in the beautiful Meiji Shrine, followed by a chance to immerse fully in the odd, the wacky and the eccentric in Harajuku before moving on to the Oriental Bazaar to pick up a souvenir or two. In the afternoon, the group visits Ginza to try out all the gadgets and new products at the Sony Building.

A visit to the futuristic district of Odaiba, located in Tokyo Bay, allows guests to spend time gaming at Sega Joypolis, the largest gaming centre in Japan. The group then has the opportunity for more gaming at Leisure Land, a huge entertainment complex complete with games arcades, bowling alleys, a "ninja illusion house" and much more. Nearby is Toyota Megaweb - a gigantic car showroom featuring cars of the past as well as the future and is well worth a visit.

Japan Journeys offers an optional trip to Fuji-Q Highland, an amusement park packed with some of the world’s tallest, fastest and longest roller coasters, all set against a picturesque backdrop of Mount Fuji.

The tour also includes plenty of spare time to explore Tokyo further at leisure.

The tour costs £1,735pp sharing (£190 single supplement) and includes return scheduled flights, transfers, bed and breakfast hotel accommodation, entrance fees to all named attractions on itinerary (excluding Leisure Land and Fuji-Q Highland), train and subway fares and the services of a knowledgeable, bilingual guide throughout.
