HYPER JAPAN, an event which introduces both traditional and modern Japanese culture to the UK, is excited to announce a very special appearance from one of Japan's greatest ever guitarists.

The international rock legend, Tomoyasu Hotei, will pay a guest visit to the event on Friday 23 November at 6:00pm.

Hotei, Japan's ground-breaking, multi-million album selling guitar virtuoso is in London and will be performing a special one-off show at the London Roundhouse on December 18th.

This is the first time in over a decade that Hotei, who is best known for his internationally recognisable theme tune to 'Kill Bill' (Battle Without Honour or Humanity), has performed in the UK.

If you are a fan of Quentin Tarantino's work, Kill Bill, then you will have experienced the work of Hotei. In this unque appearance Hotei will be joining fellow HYPER JAPAN performer, and Kill Bill samurai sword artists KAMUI, who choreographed and performed all the sword fighting scenes in this international blockbuster.
HYPER JAPAN will give you the chance to see these globally famous performers in one very exciting evening.

Hotei's dramatic masterpiece, 'Battle Without Honour or Humanity,' can be heard in climactic scenes in Kill Bill. Fittingly, Hotei will be treating Friday visitors to HYPER JAPAN to a thrilling live rendition of his iconic track.

Harking back to Japanese tradition, Hotei bills his one off London show at The Roundhouse as 'Electric Samurai.' During a career that spans 30 years he has performed with rock legends such as Bob Dylan, Bon Jovi, Joni Mitchell and Ry Cooder not to mention David Bowie , INXS and Roxy Music; he has composed widely for film, including Kill Bill and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas as well as numerous Japanese films; he performed at the Olympics Games closing ceremony in Atlanta 1996, as well as at the Royal Albert Hall, and countless sell-out arena performances in Japan.

Most recently he has played alongside Roxy Music, recorded with Grammy Award winning jazz guitarist Lee Ritenour and appeared in front of 100,000 people at the Tokyo Dome to raise funds for those affected by the recent Japanese earthquake and Tsunami.

His unique style and creativity has led to multiple collaborations with other musicians, such as Michael Kamen, but also with MINI, which created a Hotei Mini, and Zodiac, which has created a range of guitars for him. Hotei is also something of a fashion icon, gracing the cover of GQ in Japan, and he also recently appeared alongside Paul Smith at London Fashion Week 2012.

Hotei will also be lighting up London next month in a special one-off show, and a pair of tickets is up for grabs in a special competition just for HYPER JAPAN ticket holders. More information about this competition can be found here.
