US-based anime streaming company Crunchyroll announces release of app for Xbox 360 game console.

Crunchyroll, one of the largest legal, English language streaming sites has announced the release of their long awaited video app for Microsoft's Xbox 360 game console. The app, which had been promised for Xbox users for over two years, allows users for Crunchyroll's service to watch the video portal's library through their Xbox. At present the service is available to subscribers and non-subscribers to Crunchyroll and using the service requires Xbox users to be subscribed to the Gold membership. Currently the service is available on Xbox for all uses except in the countries of Japan, Slovakia, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

San Francisco, Calif. – December 18, 2012 – Crunchyroll, Inc., the leading Anime and Asian drama streaming service, announces the release of its own branded application on the Xbox 360® console just in time for the holiday season.
The Crunchyroll application is now available on the Xbox LIVE® online entertainment platform in English in all Xbox LIVE markets with the exception of Japan, Slovakia, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. Millions of Xbox LIVE Gold subscribers will now have access to Crunchyroll’s catalog of over 20,000 episodes through their Xbox console.
Crunchyroll premium members will be able to enjoy the latest Anime shows in HD with English subtitles within 1 hour of their original Japanese TV broadcast, including hits like NARUTO SHIPPUDEN, HUNTER x HUNTER, SPACE BROTHERS, and SWORD ART ONLINE, as well as their favorites from the massive Crunchyroll catalog, without advertisements.
