Standing amongst glamorous bars and restaurant in Soho is Inamo on Wardour Street, the restaurant had a special day on 3 September. Renowned for its oriental fusion cuisine, the restaurant celebrated its 5th anniversary. The occasion was marked with delicious appetisers, champagne and a tour of the premises.
Full Story
The restaurant had more than 100 guests show up to its anniversary party, those who attended enjoyed a five-course meal and hand-picked Japanese sake.
Inamo was voted London's best restaurant of 2010 by readers of Time Out, however that's not the only aspect that differentiates Inamo from the wealth of other Japanese restaurants in London; their rather unique interactive table system alone makes the restaurant worth a visit.
Conventional menus and order pads are now a thing of the past. Diners can order their food without the need to awkwardly call for a waiter. The menu is projected onto your table by futuristic pods above your head so you can use the touchpad to place your order. The interactive service also includes a live feed straight from the kitchen. The tables also include games so diners can entertain themselves while they wait for their meals to arrive. The tables can be personalised by choosing your favourite cloth from a range of patterns and colours.
Although the restaurant markets itself as oriental fusion, you wouldn't guess by the décor. Inamo has a strictly Japanese theme, from the kimono-style prints on the wall to the bamboo lanterns hanging from the ceiling, the combined effect creates a relaxed but sophisticated atmosphere.
The menu on offer at the anniversary party covered Japanese sushi, Thai-style mushrooms and chocolate eclairs, a mishmash of Asian cuisines catered to a variety of different taste buds. Dishes are marked on the menu as smaller dishes, larger dishes, sides and desserts; beautifully presented food arrive as they've been prepared, which means your orders come fresh to your table.
In the basement, you can enjoy sake-based cocktails in the seriously stylish 65-person bar and if cocktails aren't your thing, there are also beers, mixers and a wide range of wines to choose from.
As Inamo is in the heart of Soho, it's perfect for occasions as such as a first date, a family meal or a birthday party. Whatever the occasion; you're guaranteed a fun and extraordinary experience.
