The Nintendo DS Wi-fi service has now been fully launched! DS owners can go online with certain games for free by locating wireless hotspots. Alternatively they can simply connect using their home wireless connection or by buying a USB adapter for their home PC and use standard internet connections.

So far in the UK Mario Kart DS, Tony Hawk's American Sk8land, Metroid Prime Hunters are all playable. Possibly the most exciting is Animal Crossing DS, which will allow real time visits the villages of other players.
DS owners can check for hotspots on the Nintendo Wi-fi sites. Since Nintendo have partnered with a number of wireless internet providers worldwide there are already an extensive number of hotspots including fast food outlets and coffee shops.
