Studio Ghibli's Next Movie Will be Earthsea

Studio Ghibli have officially announced their next movie, which is due to hit Japan in July 2006. Gedo Senki (Gedo War History) is based on Ursula K. Le Guin's Tales from Earthsea Collection. Controversially Hayao Miyazaki son, Goro Miyazaki will be directing the film.

We say controversially, because Hayao Miyazaki does not approve of this for reasons that are not made public. This leaves us to speculate why, perhaps Hayao Miyazaki is not keen on nepotism or already had plans for another Ghibli director.
