More Anime Screenings at the London Cafe Manga

The good folks from ADV Films UK and Cafe Manga have sent us details of their special anime screenings which will be running throughout March. They'll be showing both subbed versions of Noir, Last Exile and Kino’s Journey at the Central London venue starting from Thursday 9th March. The Manga cafe also inform us that they've introduced happy hours during 6pm to 7pm where they'll be offering 25% discount off all drinks, note that if the staff are in doubt they will ask for ID. All titles screened are rated 12 and are uncut.

FREE ADV FILMS SCREENINGS @ LONDON’S CAFÉ MANGA

SEE EPISODES FROM TOP SHOWS THROUGHOUT MARCH 2006

LONDON, UK, 8th MARCH 2006 - ADV Films would like to invite all those anime fans in and around London, or within easy travelling distance, to come and watch episodes of Noir, Last Exile and Kino’s Journey at the newly refurbished Café Manga in London County Hall, starting from Thursday 9th March.

Entry to the venue will be free, with episodes screening from 7pm in subtitled versions. All shows are rated 12 and uncut, and while a wide variety of drinks are available to buy at the venue, alcohol is on sale, so with the combination of the shows and the drinks, staff can and will ask for ID. Please do make sure you have ID on you in case you are lucky enough to look young enough to be asked for it!

The current schedule is as follows:

Thursday 9th March: Kino’s Journey episodes 1 and 2
Friday 10th March: Last Exile episodes 1 and 2
Saturday 11th March: Noir episodes 1 and 2

Further episodes from these shows will be shown in the same slots each week, depending on audience reaction. This is an ideal chance to experience for free three of the best shows in the ADV catalogue, particularly with the equally action-packed follow-up to Noir, MADLAX, being launched on Monday 20th March in stores nationwide. The newly refurbished Café Manga is the ideal spot in the centre of London to chill out in, read from the manga library they will be stocking, and watch anime on their dual plasma screens on either side of the bar. The latter two plans are developing as you read - watch out on their website for more information and details of upcoming screenings. Also in development is a larger area inside the hall which is planned to operate as a proper Tokyo-styled Manga café - turnstile entry, priced by time spent, manga library, anime on screen, j-lounge on the sound system, bento boxes, cakes, drinks, and some form of networked gaming. This also will be used for future screenings and other events, so keep an eye out for a possible April opening.

Easily accessible, Café Manga is next door to Namco Station, the London Aquarium and the London Eye, putting it five minutes’ walk from Waterloo and the NFT, ten minutes’ walk from Charing Cross Embankment, right by Westminster Bridge. Happy Hour is between 6 and 8pm, during which time all drinks are available at a discount of 25% off! Come on down and check it all out - there’s no other place like it in London!
