New Anime Channel To Hit North America?

The Financial Times are reporting that Sony and Comcast are planning to launch at least three new TV channels in a joint venture. Sony and Comcast are still in the planning stages, but Sony are very keen to launch a US version of Animax - Sony's anime channel which is already established in Asia and Latin America.

At the moment it seems that it everything is still speculative. The Otaku News crew are wondering if the success of ADV's very own Anime Network is influencing the executives at Sony to launch Animax in the US.

UK readers will also note that Sony Home Entertainment use the Animax label on their UK DVD releases (Memories, Tokyo Godfathers).
