Well known importers Lik Sang have announced they have gone out of business citing Sony's law case against them regarding imported PSPs as the reason.

Sony say that they are protecting users against hardware that is not designed for EU/UK standards.
Gamesindustry.biz carry a response from Sony that accuses the Lik Sang of Sour Grapes:
"Lik-Sang did not contest this case (i.e. they did not turn up and therefore incurred no legal costs). We have been awarded substantial costs against Lik-Sang which have not been paid," the statement claims.
"We would therefore strongly deny that our actions have had anything to do with this website closing (we assume the legal entity is still trading), and would suggest that this release is sour grapes on behalf of Lik-Sang which is aimed to belittle Sony Computer Entertainment and the British judicial system that found against them."
This does not bode well for UK gamers who are planing to import PS3s this Christmas, since the European launch is next year. So if you want next gen gaming joy this Christmas we'd advise either an Xbox360 or a Nintendo Wii both of whom have strong first and third part support this year.
