One Cut of the Dead UK Cinema, DVD and Blu-ray Release Details

The good folks from Third Window Films have something special lined up for UK fans of clever Japanese horror movies. For those wanting to start the new year with a scream they'll be showing One Cut of the Dead in select cinemas around the UK from 4th January 2019.

The live action comedy horror movie tells the ghoulish story of a film crew who happen to encounter some zombies while filming, blood ensues. The film starts off with a non-stop one-take 37 minute shot, making it a bit clever to say the least.

The movie also hits Limited Edition Blu-ray and DVD on Monday 28th January 2019.

Synopsis

ONE CUT OF THE DEAD opens in a run-down, abandoned warehouse where a film crew are making a zombie film...Yet, this is no ordinary warehouse. It's been said that it's the site of where military experiments took place...

Out of nowhere, real zombies arrive and terrorize the crew!

This may sound like a the plot of a clichéd zombie film, but One Cut of the Dead is something completely different! Starting off with a non-stop one-take 37 minute shot, the film then completely switches direction and turns the zombie genre completely upside down into a charming, audience-friendly comedy! Young director Shinichiro Ueda and his cast of non-professionals have created something fresh and entertaining which has become both a massive hit not just in Japan, but across the world!

Director Shinichiro Ueda（上田 慎一郎）

Born April 7th 1984 in Shiga, Japan
As a junior high school student, director Ueda used to make small films with his classmates and after graduating he continued to hone his skills and passion. In 2010 he formed the film company PANPOKOPINA（パンポコピーナ）and to date his films have received 20 grand-prize awards at various film festivals.

In 2015 he made his commercial film debut with a short film in the omnibus film project "Neko Manma".

With his personal slogan of "Making films which will still be fun after 100 years" he strives to make entertaining films and his latest work "One Cut of the Dead" is a perfect example of that.
