Japanese Artists display work at London gallery

Our art connoisseur readers near London will want to check out Sea Change Group Show at the Mark Jason Gallery from 1st to 23rd February 2007. The group show features work by a group of emerging print makers. Japanese artists include Chie Kutsuwada, Akiko Takizawa and Katsu Yuasa.

Sea Change Group Show at the Mark Jason Gallery from 1st to 23rd February 2007

The Mark Jason Gallery, the London gallery committed to developing the careers of the best young artists, presents the group show Sea Change by an array of emerging printmakers – curated by Edd Pearman, whose own work hangs alongside that of Chie Kutsuwada, Adam Bridgland, Tom Leighton and Sarah Bridgland – from Thursday 1st February to Friday 23rd February 2007 at the Mark Jason Gallery located at 1 Bell Street, London, NW1.

From Tom Leighton's digital manipulation of photography to Chie Kutsuwada's computerised painterly prints, curator Edd Pearman brought these artists together through the common theme of the innovation within their respective medium. In their own unique way, each artist has explored the complexity and diversity of the printmaking process.

Sea Change – Artists

Adam Bridgland – Adam Bridgland was born in 1979 in Leicester. Following graduation from the Royal College of Art (RCA) in 2006, he has exhibited in a number of galleries around the UK. He has received both the Davis Langdon RCA Award 2006 and the Noel Spencer Award for Printmaking. His work is often colourful, with much of the subject matter taken from the everyday world. His works are often pieces that have a heavy leaning towards 'Englishness' or kitsch.

Sarah Bridgland – Sarah Bridgland is a London based Fine Artist who graduated from the RCA with an MA in Printmaking in 2006. Since then her work has been included in various group shows including this year's New Contemporaries. She is currently working towards her first solo show which is to be held in South London in October 2007.

Matt Brown – Matt Brown was born in 1979, and is currently based in London. He has shown in galleries around the UK, and has been the recipient of the Centre Prize Award and the Tim Mara Printmaking Award.

Chie Kutsuwada – Originally from Japan, Chie Kutsuwada graduated with a MA degree from the RCA, specialising in computer graphic and the digital printmaking. After the graduation, Chie continues to work developing her imaginary world and exhibiting across the UK. Her works are in private and corporate collections including RCA print archive and Calyon Bank.
