Anime Limited boss, Andrew Partridge, and french streaming company Wakanim boss, Olivier Cervantès, have announced in an interview that starting in mid October that they will be teaming up to launch Wakanim.co.uk. This English language version of the site will cater to UK and Republic of Ireland fans and allow streaming and rental/retail of anime episodes. The service hopes to have both new and classic anime on offer for users.

Users can watch an episode for a month for free with advertising and also download the same episode for up to four days. Premium members can rent episodes for 30 days for less than 70p or can buy the episode outright for around £1.25 without DRM.

Andrew Partridge also had two further announcements: one, that Anime Limited would be working exclusively to provide titles for Wakanim and that two, their first title would be Kill La Kill. Kill La Kill is the new series from Hiroyuki Imaishi's Trigger Studio and is also directed by Imaishi.

UPDATE: Anime Limited also confirmed that Republic of Ireland users will be able to use the service.
