Emily has sent us a friendly reminder about Cosplay Cafe at Cafe Manga in London this Sunday from 2pm-5.30pm, and the first 10 cosplayers who arrive will receive some goodies from a lucky dip. It sounds like great fun, so get your costumes ready and head to Westminster!
Full Story
Details as follows:
Hi everyone! Just dropping you a line to remind of the Cosplay Cafe event which is happening from 2pm-5.30pm at Cafe Manga this Sunday. Below are some updates and useful information...
LUCKY DIP PRIZE
Thanks to Tokyo Toys' generousity, we are able to offer a free lucky dip prize for the first 10 people to arrive in costume!
TRAVEL
As you may be aware, our event is happening the same day as the LONDON MARATHON, so if you will be attending the event remember to check local travel notices and leave extra time for travelling. In particular, it's a good idea to avoid South-East London, as well as Tower Bridge, London Bridge and Westmister tube station as these areas are expected to be particularly busy and certain roads may be closed.
PHOTO WALL
We will be hosting a photo wall where everyone can display photos or printouts of your previous costumes! Funny poses and older photographs especially wanted! There will be slips provided so you can write a note about the story behind the photo (^_-) but if you are putting up a photo of someone else PLEASE GET THEIR PERMISSION FIRST. All photos will be returned at the end of the day.
WORKSHOP
The workshop theme has been confirmed. The talk will be on 'Using and Making Your Own Clothing Patterns' and will start at 2.30pm. If you want to have a go at making your own patterns, bring along some greaseproof paper and some scissors. There will be some for people to use on the day, but I'm not sure if there'll be enough for everyone so if you can, please bring your own.
QUIZ
The quiz will start at 4pm. To enter, form a team of 4 or 5 and register at the front desk before 3.50pm. Prizes will be provided by ADV films and TokyoToys.com
WEAPONS
If you are planning to bring a weapon or prop with your costume, we regretfully announce that ALL REPLICA WEAPONS, REALISTIC OR NOT WILL BE BANNED. Polearms are also disallowed. Apologies to those of you planning to bring weapons, but please recognise that Cafe Manga is a public venue in the middle of the tourist area and we don't want to get in trouble with the police.
That's it for the update I'm looking forward to seeing you all this Sunday!!
