Negima

Summary

While the Budokai may be over the festival most certainly is not. After all the attention the super natural tournament has gotten Negi finds himself on the run from the press. In order to hide he transforms himself into an adult, sadly this adult self seems quite as popular as his ten year old self and girls are soon falling head over heels for him.

Review

With the fighting finally over its time to get back to the business of having girls obsess over Negi. This time it’s the turn of Ako one of Negi’s students who’ve so far hasn’t really had much of a part in the series. Ako is part of a band with her friends who are going to debut Unfortunately Ako has a massive confidence issue which stems from a large scar on her back. It doesn’t stop her falling for Negi’s adult form and Negi finds himself not too unwillingly taking Ako on a date.

The rest of the volume plays catch up to the library exploration club. This time dealing with some of the consequences of girls who are friends falling for the same guy. The library scenes are always great since the background artwork is so outstanding. The story also briefly touches on the girl’s first meeting, whilst brief it does flesh out the characters nicely.

Negima still continues to be surprisingly good, but some of the wider storylines just go on too long. The huge size of the cast means that it sometimes hard to keep track of each one. Roll on a new plot arc please!
