Summary

Hidden deep underground lies the city of Lukuss, an enormous experimental metropolis ruled by blood-thirsty gangs constantly battling for supremacy, a violent place filled with a deep -rooted sense of hopelessness and despair. In this place, to show your strength and to punish your enemies, you must deprive them of their limbs, preventing them from taking retribution. However for a select few, this is not the end, for an incredible technology exists called Texhnolyze that allows human limbs to be replaced with advanced cybernetic replacements. For a price.

Within this world we find Ichise, a prize fighter who stepped out of line and now finds himself facing the wrath of his employers, Ran, a young girl who can see possible futures, Onishi, the leader of one of the gangs who struggles to maintain his control over the city, and Yoshii, a strange visitor from the surface world who's motives are unclear. The series was created by the same big names that were involved with 'Serial Experiments Lain' and 'Haibane Renmei', and elements of both can be seen in Texhnolyze.
